Reading and discussion: Graphic novel The Physicist
with Benjamin Gottwald (illustrator of the graphic novel) and Prof. Torsten Hoffmann

Our guest at this event is Benjamin Gottwald, the author of the graphic novel that transformed Dürrenmatt’s “The Physicist” into a colorfully explosive comic form. He is currently working on various book projects and magazines as a freelance artist. Benjamin Gottwald will be reading from his book – the accompanying drawings will be projected onto a screen. The reading will be followed by a discussion with Prof. Dr. Torsten Hoffmann (Institute of Literary Studies at the University of Stuttgart), which will provide an opportunity to discuss not only ethical, but also aesthetical questions.

People at the University of Stuttgart are reading a book for one whole semester. And not just any book, The Physicist by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. This carefully chosen work is well suited to the University of Stuttgart’s vision “intelligent systems for a sustainable society“.
