Student Counseling Center (ZSB)

Regardless of whether you are choosing a course of study, starting your studies, or progressing through your study program – we provide individual, independent, and confidential guidance.

We are here to answer your questions

The Student Counseling Center (ZSB) is the University of Stuttgart’s professional counseling center for all matters concerning prospective and current students.

In our counseling, we focus entirely on your interests and your personal situation. We provide information and guidance to help you choose the right course of study, support you as you begin your studies, and assist you in successfully completing your university degree.

We are also on-hand to support you if you have doubts or encounter difficulties during your studies. We help you find suitable solutions and then decide what the next step might be.

In our drop-in and telephone consultations, you can receive information and initial advice without an appointment.

You are also welcome to make an appointment for a detailed individual consultation in person, via video conference, or by phone. You can schedule an appointment in person during our opening hours, by phone using the general telephone number, or via the contact form.

Our consultation services

We provide comprehensive guidance on study orientation, choosing a study program, and our range of study options. We offer insights into everyday student life (e.g., trial study opportunities), provide application tips, support you with alternative admission options (such as studying without a traditional school-leaving certificate), and advise you in special personal circumstances.

With us, you will find practical support for organizing your studies and preparing for exams (e.g., effective learning techniques). We also provide support if you are facing specific challenges, having doubts about your studies (e.g., reorientation, changing your major, or loss of exam eligibility), or are experiencing special personal circumstances.

Are you planning an event on study information at your institution or would like to visit the University of Stuttgart? Our academic advisors, or staff from individual faculties are happy to visit your school. We work with you to create a program that best suits your needs. You are welcome to contact us about this.
