Student Counseling Center (ZSB)

Whether you are choosing a degree program, beginning your studies, or progressing through your studies – we provide you with individual, independent, and confidential support.

Want to know what studies suit you best? Trying to get a first idea of what to expect from the world of studies? Thinking already about career opportunities later? With ZSB, you’re in exactly the right place for getting answers to any question to do with studies and studying!

We also support you with information and counseling services to help you choose the right study program, are there to assist you with getting a good start on your studies and will be there along the way to help you finish them successfully.

We are here to answer your questions

Our Student Counseling Center is a stand-alone counseling service dedicated to putting your interests, goals, perspectives and questions first. All consultations with our staff member are completely confidential. 

During our open office hours and consultations by phone you can get answers to your questions and information materials without having to make a prior appointment. Appointments are only necessary if you require an extended individual counseling session. You can set those up during office hours, via email or via our contact form.

We offer information and consultations via web conference, telephone and face-to-face. Workshops continue to take place online. We also offer onsite consultation hours every Wednesday afternoon.

Please note:
Change in contact hours for the Student Counselling Center due to Staff Meeting: On Thursday, December 11, 2025, there will be no consultation.

Availability from December 23, 2025 to January 6, 2026
There will be no office hours from Tuesday, December 23, 2025 to Tuesday, January 6, 2026. You are welcome to send us your inquiries using the contact form. However, please note that there may be a delay in processing.
We will be back to work as usual on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. We wish you happy holidays and a happy new year.

Directions to the House of Students

Getting there with public transit

  • S-Bahn: lines S1, S2 or S3, get off at stop "Universität". Please take the exit to "Universitätszentrum".
  • Bus: lines 82, 84, 92, get off at stop "Universität" as well.

Driving directions

Exit the autobahn A8 (Munich – Karlsruhe) at the junction "Stuttgart-Vaihingen" towards "Stuttgart". The second exit "Universität" directly leads to the campus. Follow the roadsigns until you reach "Pfaffenwaldring".
