The collaborative research center 1244 Adaptive Envelopes and Structures for Tomorrow’s Built Environment invites you to attend this year’s summer lecture series entitled Adaptivität als Utopie (Adaptivity as a Utopia). The third and final lecture entitles "Material Architecture" will be held by Dirk Hebel, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Dirk Hebel is an architect and was appointed as Professor of Sustainable Construction at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2017. His architecture is characterized by the use of unusual construction materials, such as air, water, bamboo and waste. At KIT he investigates resource cycles, the development of alternative construction materials and construction methods and their application – particularly in developing countries. 

The findings of his teaching and research projects have been published in numerous publications and awarded international prizes.
