Hannah Sophie Mast, FIFAlumni e.V.

Although many EU citizens have become more supportive of the EU against the backdrop of the Brexit crisis, Eurosceptics voices remain loud and EU critics are expecting to gain seats in the European parliament at the European elections in May. What factors might explain this development? What are the consequences for the EU if Eurosceptic parties gain seats in national governments, or if they have a stronger presence in the European parliament? These questions will be addressed in this student-led discussion – the votes of the younger generation will be highly in demand in the coming years. Political scientist Isabelle Guinaudeau will also be presenting an analysis of the situation. The alumni and students of the German-French dual study program at the department of Social and Political Sciences (FIFA) at the University of Stuttgart and Sciences Po Bordeaux will lead the debate.

This event is part of the Institut  français Stuttgart’s series “Oh, Europe!”, together with the EUNIC Cluster Stuttgart.
This event is organized by the Institut français Stuttgart, the alumni association FIFAlumni e.V., in cooperation with the Association of Young Europeans - JEF Baden-Württemberg e.V. and the Department of Political Systems and Political Sociology (Prof. Dr. Bernhagen) at the University of Stuttgart’s Institute of Social Sciences and the IZKT.
