You can meet our buddies at several information stands throughout Stuttgart during your first days (see the listing below).
The first place is at the airport as soon as you arrive. Go to our airport information stand in the terminal to meet our buddies. One of them will take you to the train station, help you buy the right ticket, and get you on the right train to where you will be living.
Our buddies will welcome you in the terminal hall at their information stand. You will recognize them by their green University of Stuttgart t-shirts. Remember, you need to register for this service before you arrive. Otherwise we will not be able to prepare guidance for you.
Our buddies on campus can be easily found. If you arrive by S-Bahn, disembark at Universität. Take the exit Universitätszentrum. The information stand can be found upstairs next to the Deutsche Bahn information center.
The information stand for the dorms can be found on campus in Vaihingen as well. Follow the same description as to the campus stand. There will be signs guiding the way to the information stand next to the Ökumenisches Zentrum.
The residents’ registration office (Bürgerbüro) is located at the bus stop Vaihingen Rathaus. Take the bus 82 from Universität to the direction Rohr Mitte. Our buddies are in the entrance hall. Address: Rathausplatz 1, 70563 Stuttgart.
Pick up your welcome package!
We kindly ask you to come to our office at the IZ during our office hours upon arrival and pick up your welcome package. It presents all the information on what you need to do during your first few days in Stuttgart. Of cause, our staff will be ready to assist you by answering any questions that you might have. We look forward to welcoming you in Stuttgart!

Wednesday, June 14: Planetarium
Do you want to know more about the stars over Stuttgart when gazing at the clear sky on a warm night? Or would like to orient yourself by the night sky? Then join us and enjoy a show about the stars in spring over Stuttgart.
Time & Location: 6:15 pm, in front of the tourist information i-Punkt (Königstraße 1A)
Contribution: 3 €; please also bring a 20€ deposit for the English audio guide.
Saturday, June 17: Knights‘ Tournament
You can experience knights mounted high on horses, the big medieval market and a wide diversity of other attractions like jugglers, minstrels, camp life and the festival parade. You will have enough time to experience the medieval market and its attractions on your own.
Time & Location: 9:45 am in front of the Burger King at main station (Hauptbahnhof oben)

Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25: Hiking in Innsbruck, Austria (fully booked!)
We would like to invite you on a weekend full of hiking and sightseeing! We will leave for Innsbruck on Friday, a city in Austria, which is directly located beneath the Karwendel mountain range. The tours we've selected are suitable for beginners, those feeling more adventurous can also find more challenging tours. Moreover, Innsbruck itself also has plenty of sights for you to explore. We will stay in a Jugendherberge, breakfast is included.
Sunday, June 25: Forró dancing
One of Germany‘s biggest Forró parties is held every Sunday at the club 7 grad. Forró is a dance from Brazil that is easy and versatile. Before every party there is a beginner‘s course and you don‘t need your own dancing partner.

Saturday, July 1: Cricket match
Let's play some cricket together! The event is suitable for absolute beginners as well as students who have played cricket before. It's the fun that counts!

Saturday, July 8: Picnic & ballet in the park
This is one of the highlights in the summer: Join us for a picnic and then we will watch the Stuttgart ballet dancing „Don Quijote" on a big screen in front of the opera.

Thursday, July 20: Max-Eyth-See
Escape the crowdy city and come with us to Max-Eyth-See in the suburbs of Stuttgart. We can play Frisbee or Volleyball, you can relax in the sun, enjoy ice cream or rent a pedal boat.

Friday, July 21: Gliding
You will get the unique possibility to fly over the Swabian Alps. The day includes the transfer to the airport, full board, short lectures about flying and of course flying with an experienced pilot.

All international students of the University of Stuttgart – no matter where they are from – can take part in the buddy program. Just talk to one of our buddies, they are happy to help.
Our buddies at the information stands welcome international students on arrival in Stuttgart and on campus and will provide initial assistance in getting started the right way on your new life at the University. Then, you will set off on your own well-prepared for the following days.
Our services are free of charge for everyone.
Our buddies will help you to move in but you have to look for accommodation on your own. Please check our housing page for useful advice on how to find accommodation in Stuttgart.
There are several possibilities for your first night or your first nights in Stuttgart. We can provide an overview on several accommodation options here in Stuttgart. Please keep in mind that it is only possible to move into your student dorm room during the caretaker's office hours. We kindly ask you to consider this before booking your flight.
