You can meet our buddies at several information stands throughout Stuttgart during your first days (see the listing below).
The first place is at the airport as soon as you arrive. Go to our airport information stand in the terminal to meet our buddies. One of them will take you to the train station, help you buy the right ticket, and get you on the right train to where you will be living.
Locations of the information stands
This is where you will find all the up-to-date details of when and where to meet our buddies as soon as the information is available.
Our buddies will welcome you in the terminal hall (arrival) at their information stand. You will recognize them by their green University of Stuttgart t-shirts. Remember, you need to register for this service before you arrive. Otherwise we will not be able to guarantee guidance for you.
Our buddies on campus can be easily found. If you arrive by S-Bahn, disembark at Universität. Take the exit Universitätszentrum. The information stand can be found upstairs next to the Deutsche Bahn information center.
The information stand for the dorms can be found on campus in Vaihingen as well. Follow the same description as to the campus stand. There will be signs guiding the way to the information stand next to the Ökumenisches Zentrum.
The residents’ registration office (Bürgerbüro) is located at the bus stop Vaihingen Rathaus. Take the bus 82 from Universität to the direction Rohr Mitte. Our buddies are in the entrance hall. Address: Rathausplatz 1, 70563 Stuttgart.
Pick up your welcome package!
We kindly ask you to come to our office at the IZ during our office hours upon arrival and pick up your welcome package. It presents all the information on what you need to do during your first few days in Stuttgart. Of cause, our staff will be ready to assist you by answering any questions that you might have. We look forward to welcoming you in Stuttgart!

Join us for fun events in and around Stuttgart. This is a great opportunity to meet both international and local students as all events are organized by our buddies. We are looking forward to meeting you!

Tuesday, June 26: Running Dinner (fully booked)
Have you ever asked yourself who lives next to you? And how do the other dormitories look like from the inside? Get one or two friends (one has to live on the campus Vaihingen) and be part of our Running Dinner! Your team will cook one meal (either appetizer, main dish or dessert) and host another team in your dormitory. For the two other courses, you'll be hosted in return by two other teams somewhere on the campus.
Time & Location: 7 to 10 pm and afterwards party at Wuba. We will contact you for your individual route and menu course.
Contribution: Each group pays for the groceries which they need for the meal they cook.
Saturday, June 30: Brewery tour
During the one hour tour of the Schönbuch brewery in Böblingen we will learn how beer is brewed. We can also taste freshly brewed beer.
Time & Location: 11 am, to be announced
Contribution: EUR 3

Monday, July 2: Europa Park (fully booked)
We will visit one of the biggest theme parks in Europe. Let´s have a wonderful day and enjoy all the attractions! This event takes a whole day and we will travel by train. The event is organized by Annette.

Friday, July 6: Gliding
You have the unique opportunity to glide over the Swabian Alb with a glider pilot. The all-inclusive day includes the transfer from and to the airport, meals, lectures on flying and of course flying with experienced pilots. The event is organized by Charifan.
Time & Location: 7:45 am in front of the IZ (entrance „Pokkez")
Contribution: EUR 50 (all-inclusive)
Saturday, July 14: Lichterfest
Every year the 'Lichterfest' illuminates the Killesberg and ends with a musical firework (Musikfeuerwerk), an amazing combination of music and firework. Also live music events, light installations and tasty food is waiting for you.
Come and join this magical event!

ready.study.stuttgart is the international buddy program of the University of Stuttgart and the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart. From the start, our buddies will support international students from around the world.
All international students of the University of Stuttgart – no matter where they are from – can take part in the buddy program. Just talk to one of our buddies, they are happy to help.
Our buddies at the information stands welcome international students on arrival in Stuttgart and on campus and will provide initial assistance in getting started the right way on your new life at the University. Then, you will set off on your own well-prepared for the following days.
Our services are free of charge for everyone.
Our buddies will help you to move in but you have to look for accommodation on your own. Please check our housing page for useful advice on how to find accommodation in Stuttgart.
There are several possibilities for your first night or your first nights in Stuttgart. We can provide an overview on several accommodation options here in Stuttgart. Please keep in mind that it is only possible to move into your student dorm room during the caretaker's office hours. We kindly ask you to consider this before booking your flight.
