About the methodology of Research.com

Placement in the Best Scientists Ranking is based on a scientist D-index (discipline H-index), which only includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline. In addition to the D-index, decisive inclusion criteria of this ranking of top scientists are the proportion of contributions made within the respective field as well as academic awards and achievements.

The University of Stuttgart is a research university with a high level of external funding and outstanding achievements in teaching and transfer. This is reflected by numerous national and international rankings.
