The history of natural sciences and technology investigates historical causes, relationships, and consequences of scientific and technological developments. It does not simply reflect the accumulation of knowledge and competencies – it comes with detours, breaks, and, on occasion, dead ends. Moreover, causes and effects are interwoven with society and politics, with economics and culture.
This is what the history of natural sciences and technology makes its object: to discover and retell it with a historical-critical methodology. It is the perfect subject of study for those interested in both the humanities and natural and engineering sciences. You have the option of taking Natural Science and Technology as a minor, combined with one of the following majors: English, German, Art History, Linguistics, or Romance Studies
