Prof. Dr. Frank Gießelmann has been a member of the Rectorate for Teaching and Continuing Education since October 1, 2021. Frank Gießelmann is Professor and Head of the Institute of Physical Chemistry (IPC), at the faculty Chemistry.

Teaching and continuing education are the core activities of a university. As the Vice Rector for Teaching and Continuing Education, Frank Gießelmann is responsible for setting the strategic goals and operative measures for all aspects of university teaching and the continuing education of employees. The Vice Rector coordinates all measures and projects in the field of further development and improving teaching, he also initiates and coordinates the necessary reform processes, in order to maintain and adapt the guiding principles of university education under multi-faceted and every-changing social, technical and financial conditions at the University of Stuttgart.

  • Heading the Senate Committees Teaching and Continuing Education, and Teacher Training
  • Subject-specific supervision in the field of quality development, the Center for Teaching and Continuing Education, Professional School of Education, Language Center, the Master:Online Academy and the MINT College
