Detail information on building areas

+-

The main entrance is at ground level and has automatic door openers. Wheelchair users can access lecture hall 24.01 via the courtyard, but there is no direct access. Access is through the delivery entrance, which has a pedestrian gate on the left. However, the door of the pedestrian gate can only be opened with effort. Alternatively, you can reach the courtyard via the 1st floor, using the freight elevator. Wheelchair users who have lectures in M 24.01. please contact your lecturer before the semester starts.

The main entrance is located in the corner of the small parking lot on the southwest side of the building. The building has a spiral staircase and elevators.

Entrance doors and fire doors in the hallways (only in some cases open) are poorly contrasted. Step markings are missing. The hallways and stairwells are poorly lit. The building is very labyrinthine and some of the room numbers are not easy to find.

There is a parking lot of the university in front of the building, and two public parking spaces along Keplerstrasse (in front of no. 17 Keplerstrasse).

The elevators in house B have limited accessibility and are mirrored. However, an electric wheelchair may be too wide for a clear opening width of just 83 cm (left elevator) and 80 cm (right elevator), respectively. The elevator lobby has sufficient turning space. However, the elevator button is mounted very high. A freight elevator in house C connects the 1st floor, the courtyard, and the Café Faust on the 2nd basement floor. The elevator car is mirrored, but it has a depth of only 1.20 m. Other floors are accessible only with a key.

The entrance doors are automated, but the sensor of the automatic door opener often does not respond the first time: Caution: The outer door opens with a jerk and quickly swings outward! The doors in the corridors leading to the work rooms can only be opened with great effort. In many cases, the door handles are installed too high and there is no maneuvering clearance provided on either side of the door.

There is an accessible restroom on the mezzanine floor in building section 24c (freely accessible). The door to the stairwell / elevator area is not automated.

Description

The lecture hall is located in an annex and can be reached via the courtyard. The rear entrance is wheelchair-accessible, but the door to the lecture hall opens towards the ramp. For wheelchair users, accessibility through the front entrance is limited, as existing ramps are too steep and the doors open towards the ramp. Also, the entrance door has a threshold and the second door can only be opened with assistance.
