Civil Engineering
Civil engineers construct residential buildings, industrial buildings, or trade fair and sports centers. They design water and wastewater systems that make comfortable modern living possible. The tunnels and bridges they create overcome natural boundaries. Transport infrastructure connects city districts, regions, and entire continents. The study of civil engineering is therefore as diverse as these fields of work.

- Outstanding excellence: The University of Stuttgart was awarded the title of best German university for civil engineering in the Shanghai Academic Ranking 2018 and is among the top 20 university departments in civil engineering worldwide.
- Integrated teaching: We offer “cross-material teaching,” which focuses on a holistic approach to buildings rather than examining individual materials in isolation (e.g., timber or steel construction).
- Buddy or mentoring program: The International Office offers two support programs to international students who are about to start their studies at the University of Stuttgart. Click here to find out more!
