The ability to visualize spaces and aesthetic sensibility is essential for studying architecture and urban planning. It is equally necessary to stay informed on current cultural, political, and societal themes. But above all, you must have a real passion for architecture.
Prospective architects should derive enjoyment from artistic examination, say in drawing and the plastic arts, but also have curiosity when it comes to new technological advances and ways of doing things. They should approach the many-layered and overlapping aspects and relations of architecture and urban planning at all times with an open mind.
