A warm welcome! The University of Stuttgart welcomes over 90 exchange students, mainly from the Erasmus+ programs and from our partner universities abroad, for the summer semester 2019.
To make their start in Stuttgart as easy as possible, students at the University of Stuttgart voluntarily offer their services as part of our buddy program, ready.study.stuttgart, organized by the International Office and Studierendenwerk. Just under 80 buddies were at the airport to personally welcome our new international students and accompany them to their accommodation. They also help with completing all the necessary formalities during the first few days, including everything from opening a bank account to enrolling at the university.
The International Office also offers the new arrivals an extensive orientation program. A welcome event took place last weekend, with a game of getting-to-know-you Bingo and Speedfriending. This was followed by a tour of the campus and a buddy shopping tour, where the new students were introduced to the Vaihingen Campus and were given tips about where best to go food shopping. An official welcome event took place on 4 March in the International Center. The new students will first attend an intensive German language course, before beginning the new semester in April.
