It is failure, rather than success, that forms a common part of the innovation process. Current estimations show that between 60 and 90 percent of all innovation attempts are doomed to failure, depending on the branch and type of innovation. Nevertheless, the process of innovational failure is even today seldom the subject of scientific investigations. It appears that such failures remain a taboo subject, despite statements to the contrary.

This interdisciplinary seminar broaches this issue by asking those involved in this field to share their experiences of life as an innovator. The workshop participants are given the opportunity to discuss important topics with company representatives and gather information and sources that are otherwise very difficult to gain access to.
