Digitalization is infiltrating many areas of our professional and private lives at a speed never experienced before. Engineers are having a daily impact on this transformation and thus helping to ensure future value creation in our country’s industries and services.
University courses must impart knowledge and skills that ensure future engineers are well-prepared to deal with the digitalization of both working and academic worlds. The federal state of Baden-Württemberg is internationally oriented and can hold its ground on the global market as an academic and industrial hotspot.
But many questions remain:
- What key competencies will future engineers need?
- How are our universities preparing for the transformation process and what is their strategy?
- What are the drivers of the digital transformation and what are the obstacles?
- Where does Baden-Württemberg stand in comparison to other locations?
This event will serve as a platform for discussing the digital transformation.
This year’s VDI Forum is aimed at the following groups:
- Universities offering engineering courses: rectors, vice rectors, deans, vice-deans
- VDI: Students and young engineers, professors with VDI membership, VDI management
- Business: companies with a particular interest in digitalization, companies in the VDI network
