Although it is currently primarily refugees from the Middle East who are dominate discussions about migration and its consequences, we should not lose sight of the migration of tens of thousands of Africans to Europe. Europe must combat the reasons why so many people are fleeing or being displaced from their home countries, treat Africa as a partner and support the politics and economies of those states that are developing democratic structures and investing in the younger generation. There is only one option for the future, and that is to support democratic principles and global fair trade.

These values are also supported by a leading expert on the African continent, Prince Dr. Asfa-Wossen Asserate, great-nephew of the last Ethiopian Emporer Haile-Selassie, who has a Doctorate in History and is also the author of the recently published book Mass Migration and the Future of Europe.

He will be speaking to the founders SWR International and migration expert Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz Meier-Braun, whose most recent publication, entitled Schwarzbuch Migration analyzed the "dark side of our refugee policies".
