How can patient-derived tissue samples be used to improve cancer treatment? In this talk, Prof. Monilola Olayioye will provide an overview of how human tumor models — often referred to as “tumors in dishes”—are being developed and applied to test cancer therapies in the laboratory. She will share insights from the work of the 3R-US team, which not only establishes cultivation methods for human tissue samples and uses bioprinting to replicate tissue-like structures as alternatives to animal testing, but also engineers innovative cancer biotherapeutics designed to activate the body’s immune system. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of more personalized and effective cancer treatments.
This is a WebEx talk to which everyone who is interested is cordially invited. It will take place in English. Our IRIS speaker, Jun.-Prof. Maria Wirzberger, will moderate it. Following Prof. Monilola Olayioyes presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions. We look forward to active participation.
