By eliminating the use of cables when transferring electrical energy, it is possible to build more reliable, durable systems. This aspect is of particular importance when transferring energy to moveable unit. The elimination of trailing cables or power rails not only improves system safety, but also gives the arrangements an increased dynamic and additional freedom. From this perspective, contactless energy transfer can be seen as a technology that will become increasingly important in mechatronic systems. Possible fields of use include everything from industrial automation and medicine technology, to renewable energies and electromobility.

This user forum offers people from the industrial and scientific sectors the opportunity to network and exchange information on the subject of contactless energy transfer. An introduction to the fundamental principles of contactless, inductive energy transfer will be followed by the introduction of projects and products that use this technology.
