This year's conference of the African Theatre Association (AfTA) is hosted at the Institute of Literary Studies of the University of Stuttgart. The conference serves as a platform to bring together researchers, scholars, and practitioners all working in African and African Diasporic Theatre and performance to respond to the theme: African and Afrodiasporic Theatre in the Digital Age.

AfTA provides a unique opportunity to network, collaborate, and engage in conversations with fellow attendees, advancing knowledge about African Theatre in and beyond the continent via keynote speeches, interactive workshop, and panel discussions. In addition to the scheduled program of presentations, social events and performances will offer plenty of networking opportunities to continue the fruitful discussions started in the panels.

Program and tickets
The conference and all its events are open to the public. Students and faculty of universities in Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg attend for free. A detailed program can be found on the website of the Institute of Literary Studies. Registration is required for participation (day ticket € 20; registration by e-mail). The performance at Theater Rampe is not included in the conference fee.

The event is hosted by the Institute of Literary Studies and the Stuttgart Research Focus “(Re-)producing Realities”. The conference is organized by Prof. Dr. Annette Bühler-Dietrich (Modern German Literature) and PD Dr. Sven Thorsten Kilian (Romance Literatures).
