German scholars living in the USA and Canada who want to get information about career opportunities in Germany are going to visit the Annual Conference of the German Academic International Network (GAIN) in San Francisco from August 25 to 27, 2017. Like in the past years, Prof. Wolfram Ressel, Rector of the University of Stuttgart, is going to participate in the network-conference together with Dr. Wolfgang Holtkamp, Senior Adviser International Affairs, in order to inform about career opportunities at the University of Stuttgart.
According to the organizers, also in 2017, approximately 300 scientists and researchers are expected to participate in the conference - which is considered to be the outstanding event of the GAIN initiative.
GAIN was founded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 2003 and is supported by the Federal Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF). The annual conference is considered to be an important international platform for the discussion of both higher education and science policy.
