Successful new appointments: Welcome to the University of Stuttgart!

Between June 2022 and June 2023, the University of Stuttgart recruited 27 outstanding researchers as new professors. To welcome them properly, a "Welcome Dinner" was held at the end of June. "We welcome you to our university and wish you a successful and fulfilling career. We are looking forward to your valuable contributions to research, teaching, and innovation," emphasized Rector Prof. Wolfram Ressel. "Your expertise and research work will further strengthen the profile of our university. It is important to establish networks and to live and breathe the interdisciplinarity that defines us and the Stuttgart Way."

The Rector delivered a short presentation on the university's vision, profile, research focus and current highlights, which was followed by a round of introductions of all new appointees. Afterwards, the new appointees were given the opportunity to get to know their colleagues, engage in professional exchange and initiate possible future collaborations.

The welcome event series for new appointees consists of a welcome dinner, lunch meeting and an evening reception. Since 2015, it has created an appreciative welcoming culture, promoted interdisciplinary networking and supplemented the offers for new employees, trainees and newly appointed professors. Participants from previous years as well as institutes, facilities or other people from the University of Stuttgart are also included in order to show the many facets of the University of Stuttgart and promote exchange.
