The new university web presence is online. The new layout adapts to the different mobile terminals and is created according to the new corporate design. The clear navigation and the change of perspective away from supplier orientation to a target group and service oriented structure increases user-friendliness.
Three large websites
The new central web presence comprises three large websites:
- the web presence for external target groups (www.uni-stuttgart.de/en/), divided into the areas of university, courses of study, research,
- the web presence for students (www.student.uni-stuttgart.de/en/)
- and the web presence for employees (www.beschaeftigte.uni-stuttgart.de/, only available in German) of the University of Stuttgart.
What’s next?
A far-reaching reorganisation process of the web presence has been initiated with the relaunch project. Up to now the “web presence” of the University of Stuttgart was made up of around 750 different individual web presences comprising departments, central facilities, internal and university-wide projects, faculties, institutes and study courses. In the relaunch follow-up project that commences in the spring and that is planned to take two years, as many websites from the University of Stuttgart as possible managed by the Technical Information and Communication Services (TIK) are to be migrated in the new mobile web design. In addition a university-wide website and domain policy is to create a basis for the future structure of the web presence.
