With this event, the Dual Career Program of the University of Stuttgart as well as the City aim to emphasize the particular importance of these newly acquired top scientists and their highly qualified partners for the Stuttgart region.
Once again, there was a lively exchange among the guests, including numerous professors from the University of Stuttgart as well as from the universities and institutes of higher education in the "dualcareersolutions" network (e.g. Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart, Hochschule der Medien, Dual Hochschule BW, Hochschule Esslingen, Hochschule Reutlingen, Hochschule Ludwigsburg).
Perfect opportunity for networking
Prior to the reception, some of the dual career families took advantage of the glorious late summer weather to take a guided tour of Stuttgart's Stadtpalais and enjoy views of the city from the museum balcony. The reception in the city hall provided a perfect opportunity for networking and meeting colleagues from neighboring institutions.
In addition to the reputation, facilities and cooperation opportunities of research institutions, applicants’ personal circumstances - above all the professional prospects of partners and spouses - play a decisive role in the appointment process. Support in such matters is a decisive criterion for acceptance of an appointment to a professorship. Comprehensive and individual support through the Dual Career Program is therefore a central element in the appointment process.
