What I especially liked was the wide range of subjects we could choose from. This provided an excellent insight into many different disciplines and makes it easier to connect them later in professional life. The theoretical knowledge I acquired during my studies is, of course, very important for teaching the subject-specific content of NwT, especially in the upper secondary level, and it is great fun to put this theory into practice through exciting projects together with the students. 

What I particularly liked about studying NwT at the University of Stuttgart was its interdisciplinary nature. It was both challenging and motivating to explore such a wide range of engineering disciplines and to work within such a broad technical field. For me, the NwT program also offers the opportunity to strengthen key elements of the general secondary curriculum by embedding them in a practical, real-world, and future-oriented technical learning context.  

What I particularly appreciated about the NwT program was its interdisciplinary nature, which allowed us to gain insight into various areas of engineering. In my current teaching practice, the knowledge I gained during my studies is particularly useful for bringing this engineering mindset and approach into the classroom and for conveying subject-specific content in a practical, hands-on way. It is very rewarding to work together with school students to develop practical solution strategies for technical problems and to implement them purposefully in projects. 

Since many lectures are designed for engineering degree programs, studying NwT requires a good deal of perseverance. In the end, this pays off, as it enables you to keep up with engineers in many areas and to engage knowledgeably in discussions on current topics. It allows for significant support in helping students explore careers in the technical field.

As an NwT student, I had the opportunity to unite different technical disciplines. The interdisciplinary nature of the program required quickly familiarizing oneself with a wide range of complex scientific and technical subjects. This skill enables me to succeed in today’s fast-evolving IT field.
