Study program structure and content
The NwT study program is interdisciplinary, and you receive foundational training in the natural and engineering sciences. The focus here is, on the one hand, on causal questions in the natural sciences: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This includes acquiring knowledge through scientific methods such as observation and experimentation. On the other hand, you gain a solid insight into the diversity of engineering sciences. Here, the focus is on application-oriented relevance and methods and techniques such as design, modeling, and simulation.
Sociological and ecological interrelations between science and technology are highlighted in technology and environmental sociology. The integration of the study content occurs at the end of the Bachelor's program through courses in subject didactics. In a school context, subject knowledge and didactic questions are integrated and applied in independent projects. The teacher training program also includes several modules from educational sciences, which deal with questions of upbringing and education. In addition, you will complete a three-week orientation internship at a school during your studies.
Further course content depends on the chosen second subject. NwT can be studied in combination with Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
