1st floor, Room 1.124

The multifunctional room on Geschwister-Scholl-Straße serves as a quiet room, a nursing room, and a changing room. However, there is plenty of space, so you can also use it as a parent–child room; please bring toys and books with you.
The room is equipped with a nursing chair, a daybed with a privacy screen, and two tables that can be used as either workstations or (with the available changing mat) changing tables.

You can obtain the key on the first floor from the Board of Representatives for disabled persons/employees/students (Room 1.129), the Staff Council (Room 1.107), or Central Facility Management in the ground-floor foyer at Keplerstraße 11 (KI). For regular use, please contact Uni & Family services.

Basement, Room − 1.021 (Expected completion: 2026)

After the renovation, the parent–child room will include a workspace, a play area, a changing table with a sink, and a sofa for nursing and resting. It is located across from the planned makerspace and next to the future shower room for cyclists and will be accessible via the rear of the building.

Holzgartenstraße 16, 2nd floor, Room 2.281

The parent-child room at the City Center University Library is located in a quiet study on the second floor. It is equipped with a desk as a workspace and a KidsBox. Access is via the entrance on Max-Kade-Weg in the Stadtgarten.

4th floor, Room 4.006

The parent-child room in the Student Services Center is located in a multipurpose room also used as a rest area for those with disabilities, those with chronic illnesses, and those who are pregnant or nursing. You have access to a desk with a phone, a changing table, a recliner with a privacy screen, and a KidsBox . 

You can obtain the key on the ground floor from Monika Rupp (Room 0.002), on the first floor from Ulrich Eggert (Room 1.017), or Central Facility Management in the ground-floor foyer (Room 0.364). It is not possible to reserve the room in advance. By prior arrangement, multiple people may use the room at the same time.

7th floor, Room 7.101

The parent–child room in Natural Sciences Center I (NWZ I) features a changing table, a sink, a desk with a monitor, and a fully equipped KidsBox with a play mat for the floor.

Please reserve the parent–child room with Monika Carey or Kamila Parastatidou; you can also pick up the key there by arrangement.

2nd floor, Room 2.526

The parent–child room in Natural Sciences Center II (NWZ II) is equipped with facilities especially suited for children and can be booked for childcare during events.

The room can be used for both working or studying while caring for children and nursing, feeding, and changing them. The room is also suitable for parent networking meetings and shared childcare arrangements.

Facilities:

• two workstations with a phone and a laptop access point
• kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, (children’s) dishes, hook-on chair (as a high chair)
• changing table, nursing chair, child’s bed (please bring your own cover or support for child’s mattress)
• KidsBox with toys, art supplies, and books
• Exercise and play mats, beanbag, sofa, and play tent

The room is accessible by elevator.

Reservation:

You can book the room in advance via C@mpus (Search > Rooms > Search term: PF57022.526 or parent–child room). If you do not have campus access, please contact Uni & Family services. The room may be used as a nursing and changing room for short periods without prior reservation.

A dedicated room is available for using the library with your child. It allows you to nurse, change diapers, and care for your child in a child-friendly environment while you study or work.

Facilities:

• Office desk with hook-on chair
• KidsBox with books and toys
• Travel cot and floor mats
• Additional small desk with a stool for older children

Pre-registration is not required. The key can be obtained from the circulation desk Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and Sat 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. upon payment of a refundable deposit.

In addition to the parent-child rooms, the City Center Campus offers the following options for changing diapers, nursing, and resting:

• Keplerstraße 17 (K II), basement level, Room 1.029A: Folding changing table in the accessible restroom. You can pick up the key at the Central Facility Management Services desk in the ground-floor foyer of the building.
• Keplerstraße 17 (K II), 2nd basement level, Room 2.025:  A separate nursing and changing room with a bench for nursing, a changing table, and a sink is located in the women’s restroom near the lower lecture hall. Please bring a changing pad with you. The room is not wheelchair accessible. You can pick up the key at Central Facility Management Services desk in the ground-floor foyer of the building.
• Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 24c, ground floor, Room 0.124: Folding changing table and nursing chair in the accessible restroom. You don't need a key; the room is freely accessible.
• Nursing and resting in first-aid rooms: Many of the first-aid rooms can be used as resting and nursing areas. They usually include a recliner and a sink. To use this service, please contact the occupational safety specialist responsible for organizing first aid.

In addition to the parent-child rooms, the Vaihingen Campus offers the following options for changing diapers, nursing, and resting:

• Allmandring 35, 2nd floor, Room 2.219: Nursing and changing room with a daybed and a cold-water sink. The room can be darkened. You don't need a key; the room is freely accessible.
• Pfaffenwaldring 9, ground floor, Room 0.171: Folding changing table in the women’s restroom.
• Pfaffenwaldring 9, ground floor, Room 0.220: Nursing and changing facilities in the first-aid room.
• Pfaffenwaldring 31, 1st floor, Room 1.197: Nursing and changing room with a sofa. Keys can be borrowed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 1.110 or by calling 0711 685-62359.
• Pfaffenwaldring 47, basement level, Room 1.134:  Folding changing table in the accessible restroom with a folding seat. You don't need a key; the room is freely accessible.
• Nursing and resting in first-aid rooms: Many of the first-aid rooms can be used as resting and nursing areas. They usually include a recliner and a sink. To use this service, please contact the occupational safety specialist responsible for organizing first aid.
