Prospects after the Bachelor's study program
Master's study program
Training to become a secondary school teacher requires completing a Master of Education with the same subject combination as your Bachelor’s degree. The University of Stuttgart allows you to continue your studies directly with the Master’s program in Italian for Teacher Education.
- Italian Teaching Qualification M.Ed.

If, after completing your bachelor's degree in teaching, you decide that you do not want to become a teacher, there are other Master's programs available to you at the University of Stuttgart.
Job & career
If you do not intend to pursue a teaching career after completing the Italian Teaching Qualification, the same professional fields are open to you as with a degree in Romance Studies.
These include professions that are directly related to the Italian language, literature, and culture, such as translation, theater, publishing, or tourism. In addition, there are career opportunities in the broader fields of literature and culture, such as media work, museums, library services, journalism, archival work, and literary centers. Marketing, public relations, press, cultural and science management, foreign lecturing positions, as well as (cultural) politics and business, are also sectors that many graduates choose after completing their studies.
In any case, it is advisable to strengthen your professional profile while still studying by attending relevant events and gaining initial professional experience (e.g., through internships during your studies).
