As a coordinator at the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), I support young professionals from the USA who are participating in the PPP cultural exchange program run by the German Bundestag and the U.S. Congress. During their exchange year, students complete a German language course, spend a semester at a university, and undertake an internship. I am available to advise and support them. My in-depth knowledge of US history and the multicultural country that has emerged from it is particularly helpful in this regard. These were very important components of my literature and culture studies. Understanding the particularities of their mentality and society helps me better appreciate the individual backgrounds of the participants.

As Website and Content Manager at moovel, I am responsible for the technical development of the company website with the help of web developers. I am also responsible for creating and coordinating web content from various areas. I liaise between multiple teams, coordinating the design, copywriting, and technical implementation of websites. Thanks to my literature studies, I can easily write texts in German and English, describe complex issues in an easily understandable way, and have good communication skills. In my current position, I have acquired project management skills in the tech sector and am able to combine these well with my literary background when creating website texts.

The Alumni Office operates and manages the University of Stuttgart's interdisciplinary alumni network, “alumnius.” In my current role, I focus on communication and relationship building with current and former students, relatives, friends, and supporters of the university. Studying English has shown me how important language is in interpersonal relationships. The knowledge and skills I have acquired are useful to me every day when writing all kinds of texts and emails, but also in direct verbal communication. In addition, the program offers insight into (inter)cultural differences between nations, enabling students to develop a cosmopolitan perspective on a wide range of topics that will benefit their professional careers. During your studies, you also learn to organize yourself to a high degree and gather information. This has enabled me to develop work structures and procedures that help me with tasks such as organizing events.

In my current role, I support open-source software projects that focus on preserving and documenting cultural heritage. I am also responsible for front-end web development tasks. During my bachelor's degree in English, I learned above all to always remain curious - you never stop learning. Those who periodically update their skills will succeed in their professional lives. The humanities provide an excellent foundation for this. Critical thinking and lateral thinking are skills that I learned during my studies and can apply in my everyday professional life.
