Information for prospective students

Course content, study program structure, and the application process – guidance and information on the Bachelor's study program in Computer Science at the University of Stuttgart.

Study program structure and content

The first year of the program will equip you with the fundamentals of practical, theoretical, and technical computer science, as well as mathematics. You will also learn how to familiarize yourself with other areas on your own. Therefore, all courses in the first two semesters are compulsory.

Starting in the third semester, you will build on the foundational knowledge you acquired in the first few semesters and will be able to tailor your course of study to meet your individual needs. To that end, you will have access to lectures covering the full spectrum of current computer science research, allowing you to discover and pursue your interests. These courses are supplemented by two project assignments: the programming project and the Bachelor’s research project.

At the end of your studies, you will apply the skills you have acquired to your Bachelor’s thesis – your own academic achievement.
