Automotive Engineering - Master

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Master’s program must meet the academic eligibility requirements. This is the case if:

1. they have a suitable Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, general mechanical engineering, or a closely related program from a German university, university of applied sciences, or cooperative university or an equivalent degree from a university outside Germany or expect to obtain such a degree in the near future
2. they have acquired or are still acquiring a minimum level of relevant skills and knowledge

Even if both of these conditions are met, supplementary modules may be assigned if the required subject-specific knowledge is insufficient. This is intended to ensure that students have the prior knowledge needed to successfully complete the Master’s program in Automotive Engineering.

The possible supplementary modules include “Advanced Mathematics 3”, “Engineering Mechanics 4”, “Thermodynamics 2”, “Engineering Fluid Mechanics”, and “Control Systems”, each worth 6 ECTS credits. If students also lack knowledge in thermodynamics and engineering design, supplementary modules may be required in these areas as well. The total number of credits for all supplementary modules may not exceed 30 ECTS credits. All supplementary modules must have been completed by passing the relevant examination before the Master’s thesis is registered with the Examination Office. Supplementary modules are not part of the Master’s program.
