Master's study program

Training to become a secondary school teacher requires completing a Master of Education with the same subject combination as your Bachelor’s degree. The University of Stuttgart allows you to continue your studies directly with the Master’s program in Political Sciences for Teacher Education. 

If, after completing your bachelor's degree in teaching, you decide that you do not want to become a teacher, there are other Master's programs available to you at the University of Stuttgart.

The teaching qualification (Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education) in political science prepares students for a career as a secondary school teacher in the subject of social studies. The final step on this path is the successful completion of preparatory training (Referendariat) after completing the Master's degree. While most graduates pursue careers as teachers, some follow other career paths commonly taken by political science graduates.
