Studying political sciences - teaching social studies

The Political Sciences Teaching Qualification study program allows you to engage in observation and analysis

  • of various political systems with the people and institutions involved
  • the relationship between citizens and politics
  • of interstate relations and international organizations.

Students on this study program learn how such topics are theoretically grounded and can be described and explained based on empirical observations. Additionally, you acquire knowledge from related disciplines such as economics and sociology, and a subject-specific didactics module illustrates ways to practically apply your academic knowledge in school teaching.

  • Political science courses with a focus on current research
  • Collaborations with faculty from the Institute of Economics and Law provide expert-led instruction in public law and economics.
  • Collaborations with instructors from the teacher training and professional development seminars in Stuttgart and Esslingen, the Ludwigsburg University of Education, and the Institute of Educational Science at the University of Stuttgart provide practice-oriented subject didactics training.
