Study program structure and content

The first semesters

During the first semester, you will start with “Fundamentals of Experimental Physics,” which will continue into the fifth semester. At the same time, the three-semester mathematics program begins, with a choice between “Advanced Mathematics” and “Computer Fundamentals” or “Analysis” and “Linear Algebra.” In addition, the introduction to “Mathematical Methods in Physics” helps students get started with “Theoretical Physics,” which begins in the second semester. Basic knowledge of chemistry is taught in the first two semesters.

Your studies

From the third semester onwards, the focus is on physics. The subjects of chemistry and mathematics are then completed. During practical sessions, you will conduct physics experiments in small groups. In the elective module “Methodological Specialization,” you can choose from courses in the area of physical methods. The “Physical Elective Module” allows you to delve deeper into physical topics and get a taste of modern research topics. The module “Interdisciplinary Key Competencies,” strengthens your methodological and social skills. The program concludes with a 4-month Bachelor's thesis at a research institute.
