Particularly in the field of digitalization, it is important to me to convey knowledge in a clear and understandable manner. In addition, I would like to alleviate fears and concerns in the transfer of knowledge. I also learned these skills during my studies."

"Studying German taught me above all how to use the German language. Stylistics, linguistic aesthetics, a broad and deep vocabulary, but also spelling and punctuation are important components of my current profession. The scientific background of this study program helps students not only to apply what they have learned on a daily basis, but also to develop their skills independently and adapt them to different situations."

"Researching and correctly handling sources are part of everyday tasks in German studies. These skills are also essential for journalistic work. A certain amount of linguistic expertise – which is built up while writing numerous term papers – is of course also an advantage.

"Above all, the ability to handle, analyze, and interpret texts forms an essential foundation for public relations and communication work. This applies not only to the reception of, but also the production of texts of all kinds. Presentations and term papers are good practice for this. Apart from that, several internships and part-time jobs in the field of communications prepared me just as well for the professional world."

"I believe that my studies in German have significantly enriched my professional development. My studies have trained me to work with texts and language, and the humanities approach supports my conceptualization of editorial content. In project teams, I can contribute new perspectives because I raise different questions and bring expertise that can be beneficial in brainstorming and communicating ideas. I am also always on the lookout for the right story and how it needs to be told in order to communicate deep tech topics such as quantum computing to different target groups in an understandable way. My knowledge of literature helps me a lot in this regard."
