Study program structure and content

The English study program in Stuttgart covers a wide range of topics – from traditional subjects such as British and American literary history, drama, the structure of the English language, language variation, and second language acquisition, to current developments, research areas, and interdisciplinary approaches.
These include, for example, postcolonial studies, Brexit and academia, film and television studies, cognitive literary studies, and computer-assisted work on digitized texts, as well as theoretical and empirical research on syntax, phonology, and semantics; heritage languages; second language acquisition; and language processing.

As a student, you will gain a broad foundation of knowledge and understanding, while also developing your individual profile.
