The intersection of technology, space, and movement

The research-oriented Master’s program in Transport Engineering prepares students for challenging leadership and research roles in one of the key industries of the 21st century. This four-semester, German-language program combines an in-depth foundation in mathematics and engineering with an exceptionally wide range of course options.

In addition to the compulsory modules on traffic safety, the curriculum offers a wide range of specialization options: from traditional road, tunnel, and railroad planning to land-use and environmental planning to modern vehicle mechatronics and innovative propulsion concepts. Graduates acquire not only in-depth methodological knowledge but also the ability to analyze and validate incompletely defined transportation problems using scientific methods. The degree opens the door to a wide range of career paths at consulting firms, infrastructure operators, public transportation authorities, and government agencies as well as in the transportation technology industry and academia.

In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Transport Engineering or an equivalent degree, applicants should have completed as many modules as possible in the following subject areas:

  • Electrical engineering
  • Regional and environmental planning
