Engineering Cybernetics - Master

Information for prospective students

Course content, study program structure, and the application process – guidance and information on the Master's study program in Engineering Cybernetics at the University of Stuttgart.

Study program structure and content

The Master’s program in Engineering Cybernetics provides a rigorous foundation in system dynamics, modeling, and control. Advanced modules address the analysis and control of complex and uncertain systems, complemented by flexible specialization areas. Practical relevance is strengthened through collaborative projects and an industrial internship. The program concludes with a supervised master’s thesis connected to current research and real-world engineering challenges.

Focus areas and specializations

Within the core areas of control, robotics, system dynamics, modeling and simulation, you will be able to shape your individual profile through a broad and compelling selection of elective options, allowing you to specialize according to your interests. Among other things, you will further focus on two specialization areas within the broad field of any cybernetic subject, which will include for example the following:

  • Autonomous Systems and Control
  • Robotics
  • System Dynamics
  • Nonlinear Mechanics
  • Mathematical Methods of Cybernetics
  • Systems Biology
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Transport Systems

Studying abroad

Intercultural exchange, enhanced language skills, fresh perspectives on your field of study, exciting adventures, lifelong global friendships — all this and more awaits you during a stay abroad! Are you interested in studying abroad for one or two semesters, or doing a language course or an internship, or would you like to take part in a summer school? The International Office will help you to make your stay a reality.
