Study program structure and content

Political science examines how the political systems of the Federal Republic, other countries, and the European Union function, how democracy is practiced and organized, the reasons why party systems change, and how citizens participate in politics.

Political science also deals with international relations and asks, for example, why states cooperate or go to war with each other, what opportunities arise for citizens from international organizations, and how these organizations may develop in the future. The topics of democracy, participation, and (transnational) socialization, as well as the study of political transformation processes, constitute the main focus of political science in Stuttgart.

This teaching qualification includes several modules from educational sciences that deal with questions of upbringing and education. In addition, you will complete a three-week orientation internship at a school during your studies.
