Automotive Engineering - Bachelor's study program

After graduating from a technically oriented high school (Technisches Gymnasium) in 2018, I gained my first international experience by completing a year of voluntary social service in Israel. I then completed a dual bachelor’s study program in mechanical engineering while working in the development department of an industrial company.

After that, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, specializing in Automotive Engineering and Technical Design. I found the combination of traditional engineering work, vehicle development, and hands-on projects particularly exciting. During my studies, I deepened my technical understanding of vehicles and learned to approach complex systems from a more comprehensive perspective.

Since October 2025, I have been working as a project manager at an automotive supplier in the field of kinematic components and system solutions for interior and exterior applications. In my daily work, I combine the technical knowledge I gained from my automotive engineering studies with project management and collaboration with international clients.

While studying vehicle engineering at the University of Stuttgart, I was able to build a solid foundation in engineering sciences in areas such as thermodynamics, electrical engineering, and vehicle engineering. The combination of theoretical principles and practical applications in particular prepared me very well for my current job.
While still a student, I gained valuable practical experience as a working student in industry and completed my thesis within an industrial research and development environment.

I currently work as a doctoral researcher in the field of battery development at Porsche AG and am also pursuing a doctorate, in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart. My research focuses on the safety of high-voltage batteries, with particular emphasis on multiscale modeling of thermal runaway and its development from the particle to the module level. The goal of my work is to develop safe, powerful, and sustainable battery systems for the mobility of the future.

After completing my Master's study program in Automotive Engineering at the University of Stuttgart in 2024, I now work as a doctoral researcher at Porsche AG in the Charging Systems, Functions & Services department. I conduct research on the topic of “Artificial Intelligence in Software Engineering” and am simultaneously pursuing my doctorate at the University of Stuttgart.
During my studies, I was able to develop a broad understanding of modern vehicle development through a combination of classic automotive engineering content and software-oriented topics. In particular, my background in vehicle networking, software development, and system modeling facilitated a smooth transition into my current field of work.
In my daily work, I develop AI-supported applications for automotive function development – from retrieval-augmented generation systems and multi-agent architectures to domain-specific code generation with large language models.
The Master's program provided me with both a deep understanding of vehicle technology and the methodological and analytical foundations on which I build today. The combination of automotive engineering and AI opens up exciting career paths in the automotive industry, which I can only recommend to any student with a passion for technology.
