Located in one of Europe’s largest high-tech regions, the University of Stuttgart offers a wide range of high-quality academic programs in engineering, natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences, with courses available in both English and German.
Exchange students benefit from excellent facilities, cutting-edge research opportunities, and interdisciplinary approaches to learning.
If you are a student at one of our partner universities, you can study for one or two semesters at the University of Stuttgart as an exchange program student. To qualify for our exchange programs, your home university must first have nominated you to participate.
Please get in touch with your home universities’ International Office, to check about your bilateral exchange opportunities with us! We would be happy to support and welcome you to Stuttgart!
Erasmus+ program
You can participate in the Erasmus+ exchange program if you are a student of one of our partner universities in the European Union, Great Britain, or Türkiye. Contact the International Office of your home university if you have any questions.
Please note: Erasmus Mundus is a specific program that doesn’t belong to the regular student exchange program Erasmus+. Find out more about Erasmus Mundus.
Overseas program
You can participate in the Exchange Program Overseas if you are a student at our official partner universities from overseas (effectively any non-European Union country). Please contact your home university to find out whether a bilateral student exchange agreement exists with us. Your home university must nominate you for the program.
If your university is not a partner university of the University of Stuttgart, you may apply as a non-degree student individual (freemover).
