Urgent message for INFOTECH students program PY09:
Health insurance is mandatory for all students. As of October 1st you can count of the statutory health insurance in Germany (cost is around EUR 65.00). However, we have no chance to offer health insurance for the month of September and the traveling period.
We urgently ask you to purchase private travel health insurance before traveling to Stuttgart. This insurance should be valid from the beginning of your journey until September 30, 2009. Only then will the costs of treatment in case of illness or accident be covered. For information on where to get a private travel health insurance please contact a local travel agency or the German embassy of your home country.
This becomes even more important today with the World Health Organization having proclaimed phase 6 (pandemic) of the so-called swine influenza (influenza A/H1 N1)..
