VII European Summer School in Local Government Studies
Stuttgart, Germany 17 – 26 July 2002

The European Summer School in Local Government Studies is the seventh of its kind to be arranged by the EUROLOC network for Ph.D. students. It is supported by the ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research). Its main goal is to give Ph.D. candidates an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other students working within the field of local government. The program will combine a series of lectures and small groups. The lectures are organized around a selected theme ("Internationalization and the Future of Local Democracy").

The program is open to a maximum of 40 students who will be accepted on the basis of applications. It is important to stress that students with interests relating to all aspects of local government, not only interests related to the theme of the lecture series, are welcome to apply. Emphasis will be placed in securing a broad geographic representation. Students attached to a doctoral program outside the EUROLOC network are therefore encouraged to apply.
