SUMMARY:Possible realms of homosexual life in Baden-Württemberg between repression and emancipation
DESCRIPTION:Lecture from Dr. Julia Noah Munier and Karl-Heinz Steinle (Historical Institute, University of Stuttgart), in which they focus on localities and meeting points, mainly in gay life and, on the basis of very specific locations, illuminate state repression but also resistance to it.\nHolger Edmaier from Projekt 100% MENSCH will start this lecture with an impulse. The University of Stuttgart was supposed to host the exhibition WE ARE PART OF CULTURE last year, but that had to be postponed due to the pandemic.\nIn January of 2021 Dr. Julia Noah Munier's study „Lebenswelten und Verfolgungsschicksale homosexueller Männer in Baden und Württemberg im 20. Jahrhundert“, was published by the Kohlhammer-Verlag Stuttgart. This study is the result of the first of three parts of the project „LSBTTIQ in Baden und Württemberg: Lebenswelten, Repression und Verfolgung im Nationalsozialismus und in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland“. \nEvent language: German.\n \n
