He contributes the right mixture of experience, visionary ideas and energy for this task“, according to Spath. Wilhelm Bauer is looking forward to the new challenge and already has many topics in the triad „Man – Work – Technology” on the agenda that he as head of the institute would like to advance. Engine and research activities are the most rapid technological and social development for him: “New technologies radically change the way in which we will work and live in the future. Our interdisciplinary research teams help companies in applying these successfully“, according to Bauer. He sees a great future potential in the increasing network of man, products and machines: “We have to use the opportunities of digitalisation in such a way that they support people in an optimum way.“

Since 2009 he has been the deputy head of the institute and concerns himself mainly in researching questions concerning the future development of life and work.
