Award for outstanding performance by a foreign student at the University of Stuttgart

Foreign students enrich the University of Stuttgart, both culturally and academically. To honor this, the Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) annually funds a prize to be awarded to an outstanding foreign student.

In 2020, the DAAD prize was awarded to Samuel James Tovey. He received the prize for his outstanding academic performance and his commitment to social projects within the international Master’s study program PHYSICS.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic it will not be possible to present the award personally. This is usually carried out by the university Rector as part of the welcome event for first-semester students.

The University of Stuttgart has been awarding the DAAD Prize for many years. The award is usually announced at the beginning of the summer semester via a group email addressed to all university institutions. The institutions can then nominate international students from their subject area for the prize by submitting their names to Division 2. The criteria for selection are outstanding academic performance and commitment to social projects.

In April 2021, the call for nominations for the DAAD prize at the University of Stuttgart will be taking place for the 25th time! The university is looking forward to receiving lots of nominations this year.
