production: Stefan Paul, music: Wolfgang Dauner, language: German

Introduction: Dr. Christian Vöhringer, ifag

With his architecture office Kammerer + Belz (later: kbk), the architect and urban planner Hans Kammerer (1922-2000) greatly influenced Stuttgart architecture. He constructed modern buildings in an historical context, influentially altering Stuttgart’s urban cityscape with important projects, such as the extension of the Commerzbank next to Stiftskirche Stuttgart (1970-72), and the Calwer Passage (1975-78).

He worked as an assistant at, and later became director of the Institute of Interior Design and Planning, and also worked in the Architecture Department at the University of Stuttgart. His teaching influenced the cooperation between prospective architects and construction engineers.

This event is organized by the Institute of Architectural History.
