French President Emmanuel Macron suggested nothing less than complete overhaul of the old continent in his Europe speech in the Sorbonne, with France and Germany playing an active role. The first step is understanding the new Élysée Treaty, an ambitious undertaking that will be signed on January 22, 2019: Europe will be strengthened as a project of global openness and tolerance, and Germany and migration and integration will become new German-French fields of activity, with children from all social contexts at the center of this new interchange. Social rights will also be strengthened within the context of a new, equal Europe. Experts on the relationship between Germany and France will be entering into discussion with those representing young Europeans and the OFAJ about the intentions and opportunities for the younger generation that will arise with this project.

Podium discussion with Dr. Felix Heidenreich (IZKT, University of Stuttgart), Dr. Julien Thorel (University of Cergy Pontoise), Marc-Olivier Buck (Regional Chairperson for the Junge Europäer Baden-Württemberg e.V.) and Grégory Jourdin-Sivet (Young Ambassador Botschafter OFAJ).

Welcome speech:
Susanne Weber-Mosdorf (Vice Chairperson, Freunde des Institut français Stuttgart)

This is a collaborative project with the Institut français Stuttgart, the Freunde des Institut français Stuttgart e.V. and the Europa Zentrum Baden-Württemberg.
