Digitalization is an enormous long-term challenge, particularly for cities and regions. In addition to digital transformation, future changes to living and working environments will need to be proactively redesigned. However, the effect of digitalization on our cities as central living environments is not yet fully known. One challenge is the conflict between the ever-shorter innovation cycles of digital products and processes, and the long-term and path-dependency of our cities and their infrastructure. Panning and decision-making processes are often carried out using very conventional and strictly regulated procedures and tools that can barely keep up with the increasing pace of changes to society and the economy. Digital tools and methods offer great potential for the efficient, needs-based and targeted development and planning of future living environments.

The two-day international symposium “Urban systems, global challenges, digital tools” invites you to attend various presentations to find out more about and discuss digital tools and formats and their applications. The first day will focus on the topic “Digitalization in investment” (presentations in German); while the second day will concentrate on digital methods from various disciplines, to analysis, simulation, HPC and prognostic tools (presentations in English). The afternoon workshops will give you the opportunity to test and use digital tools and formats in exemplary scenarios.

Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited. Please sign up by following the link to the registration form.
