Digital media is an integral component of modern life. And it is against this backdrop that this international and interdisciplinary conference will be discussing the relationship between art and older forms of mass media. The conference “Split Screen. Art and Mass Media” aims to outline a multifaceted picture of the points at which these overlap, the interplay between them and the dividing lines. The re-evaluation of the relationships between art and older forms of mass media demands close cooperation between the various disciplines. Academics from the fields of art history, philosophy and media studies are invited to attend.
