Philosophy awakes the interest of many, and many people seem to revere it. But, at the same time, it can seem puzzling to outsiders. World Philosophy Day offers the perfect opportunity to take a closer look at how philosophers think. However, this should not be an abstract experience; it will take the form of a small case study on a topic that interests not only professional philosophers, but also the wider public. The question is whether what we name the ‘self’ is simply just a function of our brain, as many researchers suggest. Am I really just my brain? We will demonstrate how a philosopher would approach this question and what he can contribute to your answers.

Entrance is free of charge.

This event is organized by the Institute of Philosophy and the VHS Stuttgart.

Event language: German.
